WorkWell support service launches across Lancashire and South Cumbria
Date posted: 6th February 2025
The WorkWell programme, designed to help people with physical and mental health conditions start, stay, or succeed in work, is now fully available across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
This free service offers tailored support, including up to 12 weeks with a dedicated work and health coach to help participants set goals that address individuals’ physical, psychological and social needs.
To be eligible for the programme, participants will be either:
- out-of-work for less than six months and need health-related support to return to work or
- employed and either absent through sickness or struggling in the workplace due to a health condition.
Operating in seven districts (Barrow, Blackburn, Blackpool, Burnley, Lancaster, Preston, and West Lancashire), the service is accessible to anyone living in the Lancashire and South Cumbria region. WorkWell also works with local employers to address workplace barriers, benefiting both employees and businesses.
Voluntary and community organisations can refer into the service. Participants can also choose to self-refer, employers may offer to refer, or GPs and other health professional may provide a referral.
