Have your say - Action on Frailty Focus Groups

Date posted: 8th January 2024

Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB are seeking to take action on supporting people with frailty, especially those with moderate frailty. We know that individuals with frailty have unmet needs and that we should reduce the non-elective admissions to hospital of this group of people, which is significantly higher than it needs to be and may be preventable.

We would like to better understand what people who are frail, or their carers, need from their point of view.  This will help to shape future service delivery and the type of care we should provide.

To help us understand these needs, we wish to undertake focus group sessions with individuals who are frail or who care for the frail to understand their views on

  • self-care,
  • their experience of access to support and how we can make improvements,
  • where people with frailty will prefer to be cared for and
  • what this should look like.

If your group/forum would like to be involved, please contact Jeremy Scholey at jeremy.scholey@nhs.net to arrange a discussion at your convenience. We will be undertaking this work throughout February and March 2024.
