Coping with mental health this holiday season - Togetherall is here to help
Date posted: 21st December 2020People across Lancashire and South Cumbria who are struggling during the festive season can access a free online mental health service.
Online mental health platform Togetherall (opens in a new window) breaks down the barriers to mental health access by offering everyone in Lancashire and South Cumbria the opportunity to join the vibrant online community for free. The Togetherall website (opens in a new window) asks only for people’s postcodes and allows them to explore the website and all its features completely anonymously.
Whatever the festive season means to you, it can be a time of heightened emotions for many. With increased feelings of isolation, depression, and anxiety on the rise, it is important that people support one another this holiday season and have access to the mental health tools they need, whenever and wherever.
Paul Hopley, deputy director for mental health for the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) said:
“It has been a difficult time for everyone this year, but some have found the restrictions and isolation tougher than others. With the Christmas season upon us, this is a time when people would usually be gathering together to celebrate, but under the current circumstances this may not be possible for everyone.
We are delighted to be able to offer the Togetherall service to people living across Lancashire and South Cumbria. This means everyone who is struggling with their mental health always has someone to talk to and a place to express how they are feeling. And with the service’s trained counsellors working throughout the festive period, there will be someone there if you need them over the Christmas period.”
As many prepare to spend the holiday season without the majority of their loved ones and experience an increase in feelings of loneliness, many are turning to digital solutions for support. Togetherall, provides a clinically managed online community that supports people with their mental health via 24/7 anonymous peer-to-peer support.
The online community is constantly monitored by trained counsellors and allows for people with mild to moderate mental health conditions to speak anonymously with their peers regarding their shared feelings and experiences in a safe and uplifting environment. Togetherall also offers a variety of courses and resources to allow users to self-manage their mental health, all of which is moderated by trained practitioners 24/7, 365 days a year.
