Members of the public are invited to find out about partnership working in health and care across Lancashire and South Cumbria on 7th June 2018 between 11am and 1pm at Oswaldtwistle Mills in Accrington. This is followed by the Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups, which the public are invited to observe.

The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups is a meeting of the eight Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in Lancashire and South Cumbria and is responsible for making decisions about proposals referred to it by the CCGs. Decisions will be referred if they require a Lancashire and South Cumbria approach, but most decisions about healthcare will continue to be taken locally.

Prior to the committee meeting, there is an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions and find out about how organisations are working together to involve local people in improving health and care across the region.

The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups consists of GPs and lay members from each of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria. Chief Executives from Blackpool Council, Lancashire County Council and Blackburn with Darwen Council, representatives from district Councils and local Healthwatch are not members of the Committee but attend the meetings.

Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria is the partnership of NHS and council organisations working together to improve outcomes and care for local people, reduce pressures on services and make best use of our financial resources.

If members of the public would like to attend, they are asked to contact Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria on 01253 951630 or by emailing healthier.lsc@nhs.net and provide details of any specific requirements they might have. Please let us know about your plans as it enables us to organise drinks and seating arrangements at the venue.

Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria is a partnership of organisations coming together to improve outcomes and care for local people, reduce pressures on services and make best use of the financial resources in health and care.

The committee will be held at Oswaldtwistle Mills, Colliers Street, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington BB5 3DE, 1pm – 3pm.

The agenda and papers for the meeting will be available a week prior to the committee here.

An easy to understand guide has been published to support health and care staff to explain how NHS, council and community organisations are working together to improve health and care for local people. This is available on this website here.
